Hey, I Wrote a Book!

I have some big news and I wanted you all to be the first to know about it, but I have three kids, two part-time jobs (maybe three? I’ve lost count), it happened on Friday and then it was the weekend, then we went to the county fair and I got sunburned and rode the Zipper, then it was Sunday and we went to church and did eighteen loads of laundry.

But I finally have time to sit down at my laptop and announce the exciting news to you all: My book is officially released! This project has been four years in the making, so I’m stoked to launch it into civilization (because it was created in uncivilization) and see what happens.

If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, then you must be new, so hi! Regardless of the status of your preexisting knowledge about my book, you can learn more, including how to order, at my publisher’s website.

Check out the fancy shmancy trailer that the amazing Rebecca Didier made:

And here’s a less fancy shmancy clip of my first experience with my book in my own hands:

Okay, enough about that….for now. Hehe. I’m sure I’ll circle back to book stuff at some point, but in other news, okay there is no other news because hey I wrote a book! Seriously, that’s all I’ve been able to think about since last Friday. I know, I know – I started writing this thing in 2019, signed the publishing contract in 2021, and have been revising back and forth with my editor since 2022, but now that I have the actual finished product in my hands, it’s so very real and all I can think about. I have no idea what to make for dinner, no clue if the kids’ room is clean, or what day it is.

And, even more amazing – people are actually buying my book! Wow. I hope folks like it and close the final chapter absorbing a little something about humanity and this shared journey we call “life.” It’s hard to predict or even influence what the something will be, because everyone brings their own perspective and past experiences to each piece of literature they consume. At the very least, readers may pick up a few cleaning tips, because Lord knows I’ve scrubbed a few dirty ol’ ranch houses in years gone by.

Okay, that’s all for now! Finally about to hit “publish” on this post I started several days ago. I hope everyone has a fantastic day and thank you all for reading my blogs over the years. Your encouraging comments have kept me going all the way to the finish line of “Never Burn Your Moving Boxes.”

Really liked the book. Actually learned a lot and that is an accomplishment in itself since I have lived for 89 years and been reading since I was 5! Keep it up, please.
